Temple

Significant progress was made on the temple exterior in 2018.

EXTERIOR
The current generation of a local family of skilled stone-masons, will have completed the upper-level walls by Christmas. They will continue their work on the lower level walls during the winter months. By temporarily enclosing the veranda and bringing in portable heaters, they will work comfortably, sheltered from the cold, wind and snow.

Ceramic roof tiles arrived from Japan early this year and are being installed at a rapid pace ahead of winter snow and ice. The four upper roofs have been completed, while work has now moved to the lower veranda roofs. Ornamental tiles at the seams and pinnacle of the roof, along with provisions for mounting roof ornaments will be undertaken as the winter weather permits.

We were also offered a peek into the fabrication of temple door frames and roof ornaments underway at Mindrolling Monastery. This art and ornamentation will be shipped to Lotus Garden for installation as it is completed.

INTERIOR
As for the interior, the heating and cooling system is scheduled for installation in early 2019. Interior metal stairs, designed to code, are currently being fabricated and are also scheduled for delivery and installation in early spring.

The new broadband system will provide the streaming of Rinpoche’s teachings from Lotus Garden to the world.
