Precious Cargo Arrives from India

Over the past few years, Mindrolling Monastery has been the location of a quiet industriousness as roof ornaments, statues and carved door frames for the Lotus Garden temple were fabricated. Under the watchful eye of Lama Riga la and Lama Phuntsok la, skilled artisans hand-carved and painted the magnificent traditional wooden door frames. Roof ornaments were beautifully gilded and large statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, Guru Rinpoche and Terdag Lingpa were  painted in the traditional manner.

In April 2019, these precious objects were carefully packed, then transported by truck from the monastery to an Indian ocean port for shipment to the U.S.

There was a great sense of celebration in August when the delivery trucks finally rolled into Lotus Garden. Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, the monks, nuns and sangha members gathered to unload the precious cargo. In October, once again there was a great sense of joy as the door frames were assembled and installed on the four entrances of Mindrol Gatsal.
