The Saga Dawa ( Sanskrit:  Vesākha) festival commemorates three important events in Buddha’s life: his birth, awakening and parinirvāna (death). The entire lunar month from May 29-June 27th is dedicated to dharma practice and accumulation of merit. Good deeds and prayers are multiplied many hundreds of thousands times during this period.
