Fundraising 2022

How We Got Here

Lotus Garden was founded in 2003 by Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche as the seat of the great Mindrolling lineage in the West. The retreat center has been the site of many teachings, transmissions and practices and has been blessed by great masters. Each year it is visited by students from around the world who come to attend programs or do retreats.

During the inauguration of Lotus Garden in 2005, the temple site was selected in consultation with Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen and fundraising began. In the fall of 2015, having met the initial fundraising goal, construction began on the new temple at Lotus Garden. Mindrol Gatsal, named by Rinpoche, features elements of both Tibetan and Japanese architecture.

Fundraising Continues

The successful fundraising of the past years has now led us to Phase 3 a crucial stage in the blossoming of this multi-year project.

Not only must the exterior work be completed, but the main shrine–currently under construction–must be furnished and decorated with all the traditional murals, statues, and gold-leafed ornaments. Additionally, the views from the temple’s large windows will look out over a lovely four-tiered landscaped garden with paths and flowering trees which Rinpoche has named the Garden of the Four Immeasurables.

Please Consider a Donation

Through their generous offerings, our many temple donors have made it their legacy to ensure the future of Buddhadharma in the West.

We all know that there will be nothing more wonderful than to gather together in Mindrol Gatsal, bringing immense benefit to oneself, the entire sangha and many future generations of practitioners. Please consider joining with those who have responded so generously, to ensure that the temple be completed as envisioned by Rinpoche. We would also be delighted to receive further donations from those who have already given.
