First you followed a supreme master and obeyed him;
then you practiced, undertaking great hardships;
finally your mind and your teacher's became one,
and you inherited the lineage.
Peerless Teacher, at your feet I bow.

Lotus Garden is pleased to announce what has become an annual intensive program dedicated to reflection on lineage and devotion. In this first of a two-part series, we will use the Yen Lag Dunpa, the collected liturgies known as the Long Seven-Branch Offering, as our guide to the ground of the nine-yana path. Beginning with refuge and bodhicitta, the blessing of the ground and offerings, invocations, and bathing ritual, we will study the exemplary lives of the Buddha, his disciples, and lineage of Indian masters. And, with the homage and prostrations of the First Branch, we will enter more deeply into the unsurpassable richness of our lineages.
All Buddhist practitioners are welcome to this retreat, which will include four daily practice sessions, group discussions, and individual instruction.
This retreat program will be led by Lopöns Jann Jackson and Helen Berliner, senior students of Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche and Lopöns of Lotus Garden. It will take place from Wednesday, February 15th at 8:00pm through noon on Monday, February 20th. The program tuition is $295, which includes dorm housing and all meals. There is 10% discount on tuition for members paying $50 per month or more.
Note: Part II of this series will be offered May 23-28th, 2012.
