During the Annual Retreat in September 2011, HE Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche graciously bestowed the empowerment of Krodhi Kali (Thröma Nagmo) from the terma of the great treasure master Nyang Rel Nyima Özer (1136-1204) to the Lotus Garden sangha. Lotus Garden has practiced the sadhana each month and some of the study groups have also been learning the practice.

This Black Vajrayogini practice comes to us through the immense kindness and untiring efforts of Chögyal Terdag Lingpa (1646-1714), the founder of Mindrolling, who rediscovered and revitalized the works of Nyang Rel Nyima Özer. It is one of the main dakini practices within the Mindrolling lineage and is renowned as one of the most profound and complete dakini practices. Vajrayogini, known as the 'wrathful black dakini', ranks first among the dakinis and is said to be the essence of all Buddhas. The practice of the Vajrayogini sadhana is said to be a powerful method to conquer ignorance, remove obstacles, and dissolve attachment and ego-clinging, thus allowing one’s primordial nature to be revealed.

The focus of this weekend will be a Saturday review of the practice, the shrine and mudras. On Sunday, the full practice will be done. There will be a brief orientation on Friday night. Those who have received the empowerment are encouraged to attend.

Umdze Mark Beckstrom, Chopon Jesse Munn and Judy Wolfer, all senior students of Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, will lead the practice weekend, which will begin at 8:00pm on Friday, March 16 and end around 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
