Lopon Peter LierbersonThe Office of Practice and Study announces that on Saturday, June 11th, Lotus Garden will observe the 49th day of the passing of our beloved Lopön Peter Lieberson, joining the Mindrolling and Samten Tse sanghas with prayers for Lopön Peter and his family.

Members of the Lotus Garden sangha, wherever they may be, are encouraged to join together again in this important day of practice dedicated to Lopön Peter.

H.E. Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche has suggested that one of the following practices may be done according to what is possible for the local study groups as well as individual sangha members:

  1. Vajrasattva: entire sadhana with feast
  2. Varjasattva: self-visualization section with feast
  3. Vajrasattva: self-visualization only
(without feast if time is limited)

If a study group has been planning to do the Downpour of Blessings with the feast, in observance of the 10th day, it is fine to continue with this practice.

If none of the above practice options are possible, then practitioners are encouraged do added prayers or more extended practice with aspiration prayers, butterlamp and flower offerings, and dedicate this practice to Lopön Peter.

Lopön Peter will continue to live on in our memory as an exemplary practitioner and wonderful human being who would truly appreciate the sangha spending the day together in practice and reflection.
