Lotus Garden's 108 Trees Project

2011 ended with the Karma team coordinating the spectacular Lotus Garden Tree Project. Some months before the official November launch of the tree project, it had already begun quietly, with Rinpoche herself taking the controls of the tractor to begin the planting of trees. Rinpoche broke ground for the tree project by digging the hole for the first tree which was planted in honor of Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen. During November, after carefully researching appropriate local varieties, 108 trees (each 10-15’ tall) were planted. Donated and dedicated by generous sangha members and friends of Lotus Garden, each tree is being tended by the Karma team and the Lotus Garden residents.
