Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche Completes
Her 2010 Spring European Tour (con't)

Spain

The beginning of this year's European Tour was marked by the wonderful news that Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche would bestow the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal empowerments later in Lotus Garden in the summer. Just before leaving for Barcelona, Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche met with Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche in Delhi where Kyabje Rinpoche most kindly and generously confirmed the bestowal of the pinnacle of the Dzogchen Teachings of the Northern Treasures, the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal. It was from the Barcelona apartment on the morning of the next day that this wonderful news traveled to the sangha worldwide and the preparations for this historic event were set in motion.

In Barcelona, Rinpoche was invited by Venerable Thubten Wangchen la of the Tibet House Barcelona to give a public lecture on the topic of Feminine Wisdom in Buddhism.

For the last three years, Dag Shang Kagyu has been the host of the cycle of teachings on kyerim and dzogrim taught by Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche and attended by students from all over Spain and other neighboring countries. This being the third year, the attendees have grown to know each other well and became good friends. We couldn't help but notice the heart-warming atmosphere of friendship and joy in the Spanish sangha. Over the past few years, several study groups have formed in different regions of Spain to facilitate continuity of study and practice throughout the year.

All the study groups came together once again in Dag Shang Kagyu and as the cycle is becoming more complex, it was decided that together they will launch a website under the auspices of Samten Tse Spain in order to facilitate communication and coordination between the individual groups and to provide information about the ongoing cycle of teachings. The Lamas of Dag Shang Kagyu also supplicated Rinpoche to visit the three-year retreatants in Naro Ling (retreat centre for men) and Nyigu Ling (for women). They had just finished their first year of the retreat and were very grateful for Rinpoche's visit and guidance.
