Seating the Lotus Garden Buddha

Preparing the Zung

During the winter of 2008, the nuns of Samten Tse prepared the filling which will be enclosed prior to the consecration of the Buddha statue in the Spring of 2010. Under the direction of senior nuns, Lopön Karma Wozer and Tsultrim Dechen, fifteen nuns worked tirelessly for 8 hours each day for over a month, preparing all the zung (dharani mantras) and rituals of consecration taking care to maintain the utmost care in performing all the traditional forms and rituals required for such an activity.
